Forest Sanctuary / SimEarthia is the gaming fansite created by ForestBalrog. Featuring screenshots, stories, worlds and characters created by site members using games, as well as downloads and archives, we hope this site will be a place you can feel at home and enjoy. This is mainly a fansite for older Sims games, and I've tried to model the site after the look of their UI and former home pages that are no longer available. The site is meant to be a hobby, it's more informational than anything, and I'm the only one running it - I make no profit from it and never will. The Sims and all other games that I've featured content from are property of their rightful owners and I am not affiliated nor endorsed with any company.
Site History
Originally created in mid 2005, ST SIMS was a fansite for The Sims 2, offering custom content by creator ForestBalrog, such as new makeup and clothes. By January 2006 ST SIMS finally had a stable provider and became established at http://www.freewebs.com/forestbalrog (later forestbalrog.webs.com) and began providing a larger variety of downloads, working with other creators, making Sims videos, and even adding downloads for the original "The Sims" computer game. During 2006 the site became somewhat popular with over 1,000 hits in its first two months at its new address. By the end of the year updates gradually stopped, however, for the next two years ForestBalrog and JamieGurl continued to create new content and submit them to the official exchange, and other sites and forums.
In 2007 the site was reborn as "The ForestBalrog Forum", offering new creations and featuring the highest quality of work yet. The forum did well, gaining almost 100 members. In 2008, the forum was renamed "Heaven's Territory", but by December uploads had declined once again, and gradually the forum vanished. On March 27th, 2009, ST SIMS reopened once again, with its first real update since late 2006, again as "Heaven's Territory". The site was updated almost daily throughout spring. By summer, The Sims 3 had been released, and due to several computer issues updates had slowed once again. After midsummer updates came to a halt.
In autumn, ForestBalrog had begun to recreate the site. On December 27, 2009, the new site was announced, and on January 2nd, 2010 it was officially opened at https://sites.google.com/site/forestbalrog. On the new Heaven's Territory, only clothing was uploaded, and new creations were uploaded steadily throughout the entire year, with special releases for holidays. On February 22nd, 2010, the site's 100th download was added (this did not count many former downloads that were no longer available). By the end of the year, as history does repeat itself, updates declined on the new site. A few new creations were uploaded in 2011, and fans even came to the site's new facebook page, but after November 26, 2011, the site was not updated again. By the next year plans to recreate the site with weebly were underway, and the new site was even announced, however the site was not created.
Finally, by New Years 2014 the new site had been created and STSIMS / Heaven's Territory officially reopened! From 2017 to 2019 the site even had its own domain name, but I could no longer afford to keep it. The site now goes by the name Forest Sanctuary, as it has become ForestBalrog's personal site, focusing on member created Screenshots, Characters, Locations and the Mythical World Semphenia (a.ka. SimEarthia). Heaven's Territory has also branched out to include custom made characters and screenshots from a variety of games, including The Sims, The Sims 2, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, The Sims Bustin' Out, The Urbz: Sims In The City, The Sims 4, and even several other games like RESIDENT EVIL and FINAL FANTASY. We combine the stories told through these games and the characters we have made to weave together a fantasy world called "Semphenia".
